"Let them be days of

FEASTING & JOY

and sending portions to one another and gifts to the poor."

- Megilat Esther 9:22

It is a tradition to give Mishlo’ach Manot (Purim treat maskets) and Matanot Le'Evyonim (gifts for the poor) on Purim to be sure we all have enough to eat for the holiday.

The Purim masquerade provides a dual opportunity to celebrate joyfully, while also inviting us to reflect on a specific aspect of hunger: that things are not always as they appear. That, even in this country of plenty, millions go hungry every day. This Purim, celebrate old traditions in new ways by giving virtual Mishlo’ach Manot to feed the hungry.
